GSI believes training is essential and therefore we train each employee to ensure consistent and approved techniques for handling every situation.  We also offer certification to companies and individuals.  All training is completed by certified instructors.

 At GSI all guards are trained on:

• Report Writing (GSI Reports)

• Hands Off Policies

• Public Relations

• Principles of Patrol

• Hazardous Material

• Fire Extinguishers

• Safety

• Communication

 All Armed Guards are additionally certified on:

• CPL (Michigan Concealed Pistol License)

• Defensive Tactics

• Pepper Spray/Handcuffing

• Defensive Tactics – by Certified Law Enforcement Instructor

  • Participants will learn safe, benevolent methods of physical force when physical force is needed as a last resort.  The class teaches control without injury, using only the amount of force necessary to control the situation.  Participants will learn pressure points, joint controls, takedowns, come-a-long holds and pins.  Program is designed with tactical, legal and medical considerations.

   

• CPL (Michigan Concealed Pistol License) – by State Certified Instructor

  • This class is necessary to obtain a CPL license in Michigan.  Participants will learn gun handling safety as well as ways to improve home safety.

• Pepper Spray/Handcuffing – by Certified Law Enforcement Instructor

  • Participants will learn the safe use of pepper spray and handcuffing using only the amount of force necessary to control the situation.
